Rule 2 A match will be fished for a duration of 5 hours.
This may be changed by the Match Secretary, with the agreement of the Competitors, before the Draw for peg numbers.

Any change to the Draw time and venue will be advised to the Competitor, by the Match Secretary, when submitting their name for match entry.

The late Competitor must be at their peg prior to the start of the Match (No exceptions).
Rule 5 A Swim will be defined by a numbered peg or a coloured peg number sprayed on the ground.
Rule 6 Competitors must sit within one metre of their peg number. If there are any problems with this, a member of the Match Committee will advise before the start of the match.
Rule 7 An unfishable Swim must be brought to the attention of the Match Committee before the match starts. If the Competitor is a Match Committee member he must appeal to another Match Committee member.

Rule 9 Pools are not obligatory.

Overall winners cannot take Section money.
Rule 10 The Association recognises that not all Competitors are able to walk long distances. If asked, the Match Committee will allow a near draw from the six most easily accessible pegs. Any such Competitor must request this facility before the first match they fish each season (or before the first match after his handicap occurs). Having once availed their self of this facility, the Competitor must use it at every match fished that season.
Rule 11 Only one fishing implement, be it Rod, Whip or Pole, may be used to fish at any one time during a match.
Note: a Cupping Kit is considered part of a pole and may not be used to feed while a Rod or Whip is being fished.
Rule 12 No bait to be fed before the start of the match.
A bare hook may be cast into the water before the start of the match, for the purpose of plumbing the depth of the swim and for checking that the float will run through the swim.
Rule 13 Pike and Crayfish will not be weighed.
Rule 14 At the end of a Match, a Competitor has fifteen minutes to land a fish he hooked before the end of the Match was signalled.

A Competitor may not weigh his own fish or record his own weight.
Scales readings must be as accurate as possible and rounded up to the next ten grams mark.
Rule 16 Trophies will be awarded to match winners at the presentations after the Christmas Match.
Trophies may only be retained by Association Members who live within a twenty mile radius of Langport. A list shall be made of all trophy holders and their addresses.
Rule 17 No Competitor will have his catch weighed if there is litter (including discarded line and lead shot) at, or adjacent to, his peg. This includes any litter that might have already been there when he first arrived.
